    • Avast, the story text was beautiful and loved. There wasn't a lot of story aside from the story mode, but it brought the game into a style all it's own. This way of telling the story really fits in with the pirate theme as well, and pirates, matie, are close to me heart. Aye, and a fine piratey story it twas too. Except for you know, the shrooms.. but whatever it takes to come up with creative ideas right guys? ;-) *puff* *drag*

    • ARR! The game is frought with pirates and shops, switches and movable blocks, events and shrooms. Surprisingly it all comes together really well. The overworld, battles, and rpg sections are like entirely different games. The columns thing for building your ship is very impressive. I only have a few qualms with the game: The world map is generated randomly and is sometimes manageable, oft not impossible. Moves sometimes hits -1 and randomly places me somewhere on the world map, which is a little more annoying than it should be because the world map is frought with danger... (ARR!) ... and once it says "Player Boardable" you can totally cheat by pressing "S" at the start of every battle. It'll board your enemy and you'll win the battle, even though he isn't apparently boardable yet. Then there's those british: Huzzah! Huzzah! Huzzah!

    • I'm very impressed with the battles, the graphics, sounds and play are all very cool and original (mushrooms). The overworld works for looks because it becons back to old games that worked that way but it's a bitch to navigate. The RPG section of the game.. the graphics just suck :) Some rudimentary puzzles are cool, hidden things ect. and the music is GREAT. Aye, the pirate theme be close to me blackened heart.

    • This game is fun and then it isn't. The busy work and puzzles arn't fun. The block puzzles are easy, find the switch here and there and take all the time in the world to do so. However, trading and collecting mushrooms, and building ships with the columns like game is lots of fun, just a little bit more fun that actual battling, which is also lots of fun. The funnest part of this game is shamefully acting out all the parts as they are written in the story mode.

This game just offers so much.
Different modes of play, and a story I actually cared about. I wanted to see
what happened next, I loved picturing in my mind the different places more
than the tile engine showing them. Hmm, someone make a text game about pirates
next compo ;-)
