Immersion: 17/20
Rules and Misc: 10/15
Overall Score: 78
- Story/Setting: - 8/15
- There is no story here except in story.txt, so I am giving 3.5 points. You also get 4.5 points for an interesting setting and multiple backgrounds. I liked the second one best.

- Functionality: - 20/25
- The way the game functions is very complex, as you can see from the character screen:
It's also mindblowingly simple to play, which I actually found to be unexpected:
 Just hit "BATTLE!"
Anyway I couldn't find but two things to take off points for. I am subtracting 4 points for not being able to see the whole battlefield either by scrolling or otherwise, and 1 point for random crashes. Only 1 because I'm sure it's something that wouldn't happen in fullscreen mode (I think it's trying to draw the cursor off screen), but I just don't like fullscreen mode.
- Graphic Continuity: - 23/25
- What cute little guys!

I'm getting a bit tired of the generic font, but I'll only take 2 points for that. Everything else is very nice.
- Immersion: - 17/20
- I'll say this game was 85% fun, or 17/20. It would have been 100% if I had more control over the battle itself and if I could scroll the battlefield. It was pretty fun without those things though.
- Rules and Misc: - 10/15
- The rules were followed poorly. The screenshot was posted, and you even posted two, so you get 3 points for that rule! However the game had no spring or spirit references in game, but I am giving you 1 point for having them at least existant in the story.txt. You get 3 points for having names in the game and 3 points for having the character classes allowed to perform more than one action with "New Class."
I liked the new GBA pic:

Overall it was interesting to play. I think it went pretty fast with not much interaction on the part of the user, which I didn't expect for this kind of game. All in all, this game was very easy to pick up and play in my opinion. |
