- Story/Setting: - 5/10
- On the field of war-pool, Gjarn kingdom is going down.
They've apparently destroyed your warband and your country, but you command the necrotic powers to summon your dead ancestors from the grave to do battle. Not for revenge mind you, but to do the same thing to the entire world that Gjarn kingdom did to you! The map is the most realistic war-pool arena i've ever seen a fine setting, but there is zero story development during play.
- Functionality: - 10/30
- Functionality - Does it behave as one would expect it to?
Nope. Entities get stuck in walls but pop out any old place to correct it. Unless this is some crazy game mechanic I missed, everything seems to curve slightly when moving, instead of following a straight line. Units don't reflect off walls in an intuitive manner (which would be fun, like pool) but instead reflect off walls in the exact direction they hit the wall. Plainly stated, it's sorta b-side when it comes to physics. Tile detection, food collection, and unit production work just fine!
- Graphic Continuity: - 20/25
- The graphics are far from fantastic, but they do compliment eachother. Tiles have big black borders, which lessens confusion. It's easy to discriminate tile types. Although it's a bit of an eyesore to read the text because of how it's drawn over the background, no serious issues. I found it a bit bothersome to keep track of who's peasants were whos... between red, and slightly darker red.. and which one is me.
- Immersion: - 10/25
- No music. No sound effects. Interesting game mechanics, however, do to the unpredictable nature of the shots.. it's next to impossible to check them out in any level except level 1. Level 6? Forget about it.
- Rules and Misc: - 6/10
- Good Spirits - 2 Yeap! (onward my ^good^ army of the dead)
Word Spring - 2 Yeap! Screenshot - 2 Yeap! Actions - 0 Nope. Names - 0 Nope.
Another innovative mesh of ideas and concepts from SDHawk, unfortunately not nearly as complete or interesting as what he did with FUNCY in the xmas compo.
============== Overall Rating ==============
 Shodan is generally not amused with these functional antics.
