  • ELEGANCE 24/25
    • Catchy music, happy graphics, detailed background. What's it missing? Any sound effects at all? A blasting noise for shooting? A bleep for a successful arrow-pressed? A doppler effect for a moving enemy spaceship? -1 for lack of soundscape,. 96% mark

  • FOUNDATION 23/25
    • At least this one released it's source. However, now that I've opened it, I realize just how different python is from things I actually know. the two files are a testement to the very short development time involved, I'm going to demerit for being solid but lacking in focus... the Rhythm part could've been synched to the beat (I know I caught myself pressing the buttons to the beat subconsciously), there could've been some way to type accuracy on rhythm-hits to the enemy spacecraft... the better/faster you are, the more he's drawn to your current location perhaps? What about powerups? -2 total for an otherwise intriguing/perplexing game that could've been more.

  • NOVELTY 23.75/25
    • Jesus freakin' christ... Shoot'm-up meets Tunnel-game meets Rhythm game? You guys just needed RPG and Sidescroller elements and you've had a full house. This definitly takes the Pole Position for originality, but I cannot grant full marks since your game is a jack of all trades and a master of none at this point. 95% to Your Mother. .

  • EXECUTION 20/25

    1. Dream: Although I don't completly buy the explaination in the readme.txt, it's existance amused me. 3 points for being more original than Praetor ;)
    2. Space: 5 points, it's in (outer) space, and space-as-in-room is a vital component of the game.
    3. Color: 3 points. it's in color, I'll grant it that. Color was not, however key to the game.
    4. Chaos: 5pts. This game is definitly chaotic. A little less chaos would've made for a better game... but hey, we said Chaotic :P. The readme.txt explaination convinced me on this, I agree wholeheartedly.
    5. Emotion: Is 'frantic' an emotion? There was a lot of motion, but was it E-motion? Well, at least it wasn't Emo-tion. 4 points for not being Emo. Nobody can argue with that! :D
But seriously, between this and Pulser my personal anxiety was pretty high. Infinite only gets a 4 for not working the emotion into the story (what story? ;) as well as the gameplay experience

Closing comments:

This won is my pick for the leader of the extremly close race for first. It's the first that I beat, but only after several attempts (20 mins playing). It's got a good learning curve to it, and you really do have to balance out your three options to win. I found myself taking hits to my armor during levels 1-2 to get more hits in on the enemy, focusing on the rhythm during levels 2-3, and going for the kill by 4. Got 59528 points, to boot. If this game was ever expanded upon, perhaps by making the rhythem part and the shooter part more intricate, it'd make a weird, weird 2-player game (you man the guns, I'll man... the dance floor).

Although I somehow doubt there are plans for Corey and Thrasher to continue this game in any way, I hope they reconsider. The world needs more weirdass games, and this is definity off-kilter in concept.

Once again, the compo system disallows fractional scores, so I award .25 points for the 2nd funniest logo. Hahaha my mother's fat.
